Description

Late ‘70s and the surfers mind was angled more towards aggressive performance surfing in the pocket. Shorter boards. The idea for the Area Pin was that it’d be like a 6’9” wing pin, but no wings, so it came back to 6’5” as a pure pin. Ride it on a good day’s and use that straight rocker to drive
a long turn into the pocket or barrel. Stand over your front foot with confidence, and tap into the forward projection.

"That be the board Terry shaped for me in 79 and the board Bobby Owens rode to victory during the Bells Trials in 1981.
I really liked surfing it ...back then. The idea was that it'd be like a 6'9" wing pin, but sans wings, so it came back to 6'5" as a pure pin.
I used to shift the fin around a bit I think?
Ride it on a good day’s and use that straight rocker to drive a long turn into the pocket or barrel. That's when it always felt best to me."
